Joint supervision

Joint supervision of a PhD thesis represents a significant opportunity for PhD students to conduct research with a focus on international cooperation. Once the application has been accepted by the PhD student concerned and the necessary requirements have been verified, this arrangement involves the PhD student enrolling at two universities in two different countries and obtaining two separate degrees with legal validity recognised by both countries. The doctoral student's research project under cotutela is supervised by two tutors, one from each university, and the doctoral student alternates between periods of study of roughly equal length at both universities.                Incoming co-tutorship for doctoral students already enrolled in a doctoral programme at a foreign university abroad (Home Institution) and hosted by the University of Messina (Host University);

    Outgoing co-tutorship for doctoral students already enrolled at the University of Messina (Home University) and hosted by a foreign university (Host Institution).
