Admission requirements

The Doctorate (Ph.D) represents the third and highest level of university education.

The programme lasts three years. The aim of the Doctorate is to provide students with the skills necessary to carry out highly qualified research at universities, public bodies or private entities, or to practise liberal professions, contributing to the creation of the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area.

To be admitted to a PhD programme, applicants must hold a specialist/master's degree or a degree under the old system, or a qualification obtained abroad that is recognised as suitable for admission purposes only.

The PhD programme has a limited number of places and selection is by public competition.

The title of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) is awarded upon passing a final examination consisting of the discussion of the doctoral thesis.
